Description

On August 12, 1994 professional baseball went on strike, with the effects still being felt throughout the baseball community in Canada.
When the strike happened, Canadian baseball was at its peak. Montreal was the best team in baseball, Toronto was coming off of back to back world championships and there were seven minor league teams playing in Canada.
The strike lasted 232 days, 938 regular season games were cancelled and for the first time since 1904, there was no World Champion. Following the strike, both Canadian teams saw a significant drop in attendance and television viewership. All of the minor league teams moved and Montreal moved to Washington after the 2004 season.
